About Dirk Weissleder
Honorary IGS Board Member Dirk Weissleder has been the chairman of the Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft genealogischer Verbände e. V. (DAGV), the national umbrella organization of German genealogical and heraldic societies, since 2012, and was the president of the German federation of family associations (BdF) from 2007-2017.
Dirk achieved international recognition as co-founder of the International German Genealogy Partnership (IGGP) in 2015, serving as its second vice president since 2018. He was appointed to the Académie Internationale de Généalogie (AIG) in 2018, and since 2019 has served as elected Secretary General of the World Confederation for Genealogy and Heraldry (CIGH), where he was recognized in 2021 for his merits “for his important work in favor of the knowledge of the German genealogy and family history in the world."
