SCGS's German Interest Group welcomes speaker Milan Pohontsch on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1 p.m. PST. His webinar will be presented in a hybrid format. The subject of his talk will be "The Role of Convents and Monasteries in the 15th-19th Centuries and How They Affected Our Ancestors."


About Milan


Milan Pohontsch is a full-time professional genealogist. As a native of Germany, he has excellent language and communication skills for conducting research in that part of Europe. While a young man, he discovered and fell in love with what is now his vocation — genealogy. Later, he became head of a genealogical research center in Germany. Milan also served as an expert for the International Reference Counter in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and has cataloged microfilms in the LDS Church Office Building.
