Presented by the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) and co-sponsored by the Southern California Genealogical Society (SCGS) and the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America--Southern California (GSHA-SC) webinars are offered on the third Saturday of most months (except August and December). Whether you're a beginner or have been researching for years, this is a fantastic opportunity to tune-up your current research skills or learn something new about family history research. Hosted by LAPL genealogy librarian Julie Huffman, monthly programs feature experts, genealogists, and historians who delve into  diverse topics ranging from historical border changes in Eastern Europe, Jewish genealogy, the LAPL's Chinese roots collection, searching for pre-1848 Mexican ancestors, and exploring the vast collections at the Huntington Library in nearby San Marino.
 

Following onsite presentations, workshop leader and SCGS education chair Charlotte Bocage conducts tours of the LAPL Genealogy Department and provides research assistance after the tour
