Genealogy Software
Interest Groups
Have you been wanting to learn how to use a particular genealogical software program or would love the opportunity to explore techniques and tips for one with which you're familiar? Like anything, it helps to discuss and discover with others who share your interest. New users are encouraged to join; all levels are welcome!
Many of the most popular programs offer free trials. While not equipped with all of the features of a subscription version, most give you an idea of their format and usability. Things to consider when comparing genealogy software:
-
What are my research goals?
-
Is it user-friendly and does it include features I will use?
-
Opportunities for source documentation (citation)
-
Easy integration of photos, audio, and videos
