Research Assistance
The Southern California Genealogical Society's research team consists of highly qualified experts dedicated to conducting specialized research for a nominal fee.
Our resources include an extensive library collection of over 40,000 books, thousands of microforms and CDs, and a wide range of up-to-date electronic resources.
The research costs $18 per hour for members and $20 per hour for non-members.

In our own geographic area, we offer clients information on the vital areas of birth, death, and marriage, plus newspaper obituaries.

California Research
Our records include the names of people coming overland and by ship; many names were recorded in the newspapers of the day. In addition to the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Censuses, SCGS compiled an 1852 census for the state of California. We also have extensive records pertaining to the California Gold Rush:
