Understanding SCGS Library Call Numbers
Each Southern California Genealogical Society Family Research Library book has a unique call number. Think of a call number like an address: it reveals where the book is located. Call numbers appear on the spines of books and in the library's catalog. The same call number can be written from top-to-bottom or left-to-right.
